What an incredible experience! Visiting for a work trip and wanted to ensure we had an opportunity to spend time away from Bourbon Street as well, and Port Of Call was absolutely amazing. Incredible ambiance, great service and arguably the best burger I have ever had. I don't know where they find potatoes in this size and quality, but I promise you this will be the only meal you will need for at least 24 hours. Cannot wait to come back!

We were recommended this place by a friend who use to live in the area for a bit and boy, are we glad we listened because this had one of the best cheeseburgers I ever tasted. The decor was that of an old pirate feel. The service was quite excellent and as for drinks please try the monsoon. Its one size souvenir cup lasted the whole day....totally didn't need another drink for a while.

The best burgers in the city of Nola. Food is so good and consistent every time. Service never disappoints. This is one you must add to your Nola restaurant list. They have the basic but delicious burgers and steaks. A staple in the city. Trust me on this one. Port Of Call has been the GEM of the New Orleans French Quarter since the 1960's, and for good reason: They have consistantly been voted THE BEST BURGER IN THE CITY!

We were referred here by an employee at our resort and when I tell you the 20 minute walk was well worth it!! Small bar and grill but big burgers and awesome drinks. We sat at the bar taking in the vibe, great music was playing while we waited, we didn't wait long either. We had the Mushroom Cheeseburgers, mine with Swiss his with Cheddar. The burgers came out with huge Baked Potato with sour cream, lettuce tomato and onion(next time I would ask for sautéed onions) and any condiment you need. BTW they don't sell Hurricanes they sell Monsoons!! Restaurant is located just outside the French Quarter, we walked and took in the sites about 20 minutes from our resort. Esplanade had a few historic markers so we got some great historic facts. Also it's located around the

Ok...This spot is the REAL DEAL! I heard from locals on my last trip but didn't get the opportunity to stop by! Prior to this visit to New Orleans I saw this establishment on ya Food Show and made this a 'to-do' on this visit! The interior is super dark and made me think..what y'all hiding in here? I'll tell you what they hiding...The Best Burgers in New Orleans! The burgers are served with a baked potato! Both were yummy! The drinks offered come in regular and Jumbo...go for the jumbo...if you don't finish you can get a to-go cup! Make this a spot to check out if you visit! The bar staff were chill and friendly! The space is small...there is some outdoor seating, but be prepared to wait at peak hours! There was a good balance of locals and tourists..so I felt this is a good sign of this place must serve good food consistently!

It's a fine burger, a bit under seasoned and definitely not the best in NOLA but a pretty good deal with a baked potato included in the price. You'll pay extra for cheese, mushrooms, etc. but it's worth it because the burger is a bit bland on its own. The "Monsoon" is apparently their famous drink, I tried some of my friend's drink and I'll have to pass - it's in line with some of the famous touristy drinks on Bourbon Street so if that's your thing then go for it. You'll generally wait about an hour for a table which is why I had never been here, but my friends were adamant that we eat here and it's fine. I'll maybe even upgrade to good. It's kind of an old school dive bar with a hipster atmosphere that's all about turning and burning tables so be ready with your order and don't spend too much time eating or chatting at your table or you'll notice the staff's annoyance. The menu is tiny with options of burgers, steaks, or "salads" and it's pretty good for what it is - I have no immediate need to visit again but now I've finally been to the "famous" Port Of Call. I'll round up from 3.5 stars. Visit if you want, many love it.

This place is an interesting one to review. We went there because one of our friends who was with us swore up and down that it had the best hamburgers in New Orleans. I have not had other hamburgers in New Orleans, so I cannot verify or deny that statement. This is a dive bar. Make no mistake about it, that is exactly what it is. It is cramped and dark inside and the menu is pretty simple. They have hamburgers and baked potatoes. You can put cheese on the hamburger and even mushrooms on the hamburger, but that's it. The baked potatoes come with butter, butter and sour cream, or loaded up with chives and bacon bits. The menu is incredibly simple. I honestly can't remember ever being in a restaurant that had such a limited menu. Having said that, they do a pretty good job at it. The burgers are half pound burgers, and while I am not sure if they grill them over a charcoal grill, they definitely had a charcoal flavor to them. The service was fine, but the bar has absolutely no ambience .I don't think they are really trying to have any so maybe that's not a gig. I am giving it four stars because I think it is trying to be a dive bar that sells hamburgers and if that is the case, they do it very well. If you are coming there with a picky eater or someone that doesn't like hamburgers and baked potatoes, Bad idea!

On my first night in New Orleans, I got some recommendations from a local where to visit. He said this place is a Must Go and their Monsoon drink is a must get. Came to this cute ship-like decorated place and sat at a bar. Ordered the mushroom cheese burger with baked potato and monsoon drink. I shared a monsoon drink with my friend but this huge drink still got me drunk at the end of the night. It's such a tasty drink and a good value drink esp in other places you have to pay a lot more for a small drink. They put a LOT of alcohol in their drinks ( eye witnessed pouring lots of alcohols with at the bar.) Their burger is nothing special. It's a classic American burger but they did REALLY well. Their patty is thick and flavorful. One tip if you don't want to break your burger (bc mine broke within my second bite since the burger is so heavy) I would suggest either 1) lift the burger with a fork or 2) cut your burger into half from the beginning. I would definitely come back to this place. Loved the vibe and our server Melissa was so kind and helpful. Ask her how she ended up working there! I thought it was a funny but wholesome story.
